The original St. Michael statue on Tepeyac Hill in Mexico City stands near the Basilica of Guadalupe, a site of great religious significance where the Virgin of Guadalupe is believed to have appeared. The statue, sculpted by Ernesto Tamariz Galicia, depicts St. Michael triumphing over Satan. It's located on top of Tepeyac Hill, which was previously a site of indigenous worship before the Virgin of Guadalupe's appearance.
